THE Mood of Infrastructure’s Accessibility

THEMIA

We measure access to citizenship services defined by the National Strategy for Inner Areas, such as hospitals, schools, and train stations. We use real-time data, digital footprints, and advanced Machine Learning techniques to develop innovative indicators that support territorial policies and improve citizens' well-being.

Funded through a cascade grant under Spoke 7 "Territorial Sustainability" of the GRINS project, part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 "Education and Research" – Component 2 "From Research to Business" – Investment 1.3, with funds from the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

A valuable support for evaluating policies and investments

The approach is primarily based on monitoring the content of the institutional channels of hospitals, secondary schools, and railways. Considering the duty of institutions to communicate through their official channels, the idea arises to analyze the content using new Machine Learning tools.

Train stations

We monitor train punctuality daily at all stations across the country and track real-time delays in minutes.

Hight schools

We monitor official channels and perform an instant analysis of institutional communication content: how and how much they communicate with students, families, institutions, and the outside world, as well as identifying the most recurring topics.

Hospitals

Healthcare organizations and hospitals can improve service quality by enhancing their communication activities through websites and social media channels. Our monitoring allows us to identify virtuous healthcare facilities by also observing communication best practices that contribute to streamlining specific services.
